How to scale on cold traffic
At the time of this writing (Wed, April 3 @11:43pm EST), I'm currently sitting in my office looking at a dashboard showing $600,000 in revenue from a funnel we launched just 30 days ago.

We launched this funnel on cold traffic - no retargeting, no bs. Straight cold traffic.
And in today's newsletter I want to talk about how I scaled this funnel on cold traffic - so you can turn strangers into customers for your very own business.
For those that are new to the list - I'm the head of Growth Operating at Whop.com.
And this funnel in particular is a new project I'm working on at Whop.
The goal is to get this funnel to $50,000,000 per month in revenue profitably in the next 90 days, and I think we've already cracked the hard part.
And unlike most people on the internet - I actually practice my craft every single day.
So let me break down exactly what we did.
The Science of Structured Testing
Most people get this wrong - they test too many variables at once or make emotional decisions based on limited data.
But doing this leaves you shooting in the dark, and unable to capitalize on market signals.
So our approach is different.
For the first 3 days, we ran 27 different combinations:
3 different VSLs
3 different headline splits
3 different landing pages
A constant of 70+ ad creatives
Total test budget: $9,000 ($333 per combination)
The key? We didn't touch ANYTHING during those 3 days. No optimizations, no tweaks, no emotional decisions.
Just pure, clean data collection.
In fact - I've spent years developing this discipline, and it's paid off massively. While most marketers are frantically checking their ads every hour, we let the data speak for itself.
Day 4: The First Cut
By day 4, we had clear winners and losers. Here's what we did:
Immediately killed the bottom 70% of combinations
Documented exactly WHY certain variations won (this is crucial)
Developed a formal hypothesis for the next round of testing
Most marketers would start scaling the winners here. But it's not that simple.
You see, the key to closing huge deals - ultimately comes down to having a system.
The Secret: Headline Iteration
Instead of rushing to scale, we created 10 new headline variations based on our winning hook.
The critical point? We kept them SIMILAR to the original high-performing hook.
This is where most people screw up - they reinvent the wheel instead of making incremental improvements.
To add on to this - we tested these new headlines against our winning landing pages with equal budget allocations, ensuring we weren't just getting lucky with our first round of testing.
The Extended Optimization Phase
Days 7-11 were focused on fine-tuning.
If our control was still winning after 5 days of testing variations, we moved to body copy testing.
We documented EVERYTHING in our test log - which is how we can replicate this process for any new funnel.
And this is how you really win in the game of online business - having replicable systems that don't rely on luck or one-time wins.
The Scaling Protocol
This is where magic started to happen:
If performance was 25% below target: Increase spend by 50-100% on winning variations only
If performance was within 25% of target: Increase spend by exactly 25%
Monitor daily performance after increase
We followed this protocol religiously, scaling from $1K/day upwards of $10K/day in just over two weeks.
In most cases - these kinds of results require you to have a solid foundation, spend your own money testing properly, and develop a longer term mindset.
The Results
By the end of 30 days:
$600,000 in revenue
10X ROAs
Profitable at a 4% take rate
Consistently scaling spend
And we documented this entire process to be repeatable, and predictable.
However these are the systems that create and build generational wealth - not just short-term cash.
What You Can Apply Today
Even if you don't have our budget, you can apply these principles:
Structured testing with no emotional decisions
Document everything - especially WHY certain elements win
Make incremental improvements to winners instead of radical changes
Follow a systematic scaling protocol based on performance thresholds
Never sacrifice data quality for speed
This might seem like overkill, but this is exactly how we're building a system that can scale to $50M/month.
I'm considering putting together a more detailed breakdown of our exact process, templates included.
