Delusional confidence

how to use it to your advantage

Every once in a while I get asked “How can I go about scaling my client when this is my very first launch?”

Very reasonable question, however, there’s a pretty simple solution to this.

I call it - delusional confidence.

I’ve never disclosed this before, but when I signed my first client at my agency I quite literally had no idea what I was doing.

We had a short time frame for launch, and I had to figure out how to run a business from A-Z.

Keep in mind, this was before “growth operating” was a thing so my resources were very limited.

So what did I decide to do?

On very short notice I decided to run a marathon with one of my friends, and at this time I’d never run more than 5 miles at one time.

This marathon was one of the most painful experiences I put myself through physically, however, I gained a very healthy level of confidence after running.

“If I could run a marathon without any preparation - I can do anything”.

I went ahead to scale this launch to $40,000 in revenue in the first 30 days as a complete beginner with limited resources.

However - I’m sure I would’ve tapped out mentally if I hadn’t put myself through a challenge and gained what I call “delusional confidence”.

So here’s my challenge to you…

Do something hard this week.

You could go to the gym earlier, go on a strict diet, maybe you could even run a marathon.

Do something - to refresh your confidence level so you can overdeliver when the time comes.

Trust me - it works.
