In today’s email, I want to address a frequent subscriber question.

Subscriber:

Yo Malcolm, read a few of your emails, good content. with my biz partner, we run offers as well. One thing where we want to get better is finding experts /creators to publish. Do you have a specific process for finding them or is it more through networking? 

Malcolm:

Without going into much detail because I can’t, we have an endless Rolodex of creators to work with from an exclusive deal. Outside of that, we leverage our network, in fact, my network has made me $82,568 this month with my agency on a very slow month.

You see, my form of acquisition is much different than most, especially for beginners.

However, there was a point in time I did use cold email and Instagram DM’s to land clients.

Actually - some of my favorite clients have come from me sending a very short and sweet outreach message.

And those outreach messages had a very high ROI.

However - this was over a year ago, and in the industry of info-marketing is a very long time ago.

Especially, since the space has been saturated with “growth operators”.

Which brings me to the point of this email.

Outreach is good to land your first creator client and get your first big case study, however, it’s very unsustainable and saturated.

So here’s what I recommend you do instead:

  • Land your first client through outreach

  • Get a big case study

  • Start building your personal brand on X and Instagram

  • Go to networking events and masterminds such as funnel-hacking live - at networking events and masterminds you’ll connect with people who have the clients you’re looking for.

  • Invest in a mentor who has for lack of better words motion - in many cases your mentor will have clients they can just pass you.

This is what I did, as well as many of my close friends who make hundreds of thousands per month with their agencies.

At the time of this writing, I haven’t sent an outreach message in over a year and I reckon it’ll stay that way as long as I keep building up my network.
