The objective: turning an ice-cold lead into a ready-to-purchase customer.

These assets go on places like Reddit, YouTube, Forbes, and Instagram.

But here's the key—These assets should always be third-party assets.

For example:

  • Instead of posting a student interview on YouTube, do a podcast with a reputable figurehead who validates your claims in real time

  • Instead of making a Trustpilot for your business, have your customers create Reddit threads where they have open dialogue about you and your offer

There are a few reasons why making these assets is important:

  1. A cold lead that enters your ecosystem will resort to Google and YouTube for more information after booking a sales call

  2. The objective is to turn a cold lead into a ready-to-pay customer before the sales call even starts, and the best way to do that is by injecting organic social proof elements

Here's how this looks in a funnel in real time:

  1. A cold lead sees an ad with a CTA to a podcast

  2. That lead is retargeted with a direct response ad to watch a free training

  3. That lead then books a sales call

  4. Once they book a sales call, the lead falls into your venus fly traps and consumes a Reddit thread, Forbes post, and student testimonials about your company

  5. Before the call, the lead is spoonfed with 30 high-frequency retargeting ads providing value, handling objections, and social proof

  6. The lead then hops on the sales call and hands your sales rep a lump sum of cash in less than 15 minutes

This is how a venus fly trap funnel for paid advertising should look.

But here's the tough part.
